I just upgraded to a GA-69m-SH2 from a DFI RS482 for the socket AM2, dual-head digital output, DDR2 and (I thought) better chipset.

Well now I switched to Kubuntu (praise the lord) and it seems ATI doesn't like linux, so Compiz fusion runs like crap. It also seems that the mobo can't actually do dual digital outputs. So now I can either

1 Buy a video card--not a total loss as I have a faster processor now, but an irritating consession, because I could have just bought a gfx card for my old pc

2 Return my mobo for a different one with a good chipset that I know will work in linux.

I don't game, but I watch/compress/store video and running Compiz well with all the effects enabled is a high priority...don't laugh, it's my eye candy outlet. So are there any good HTPC type mobo that are confirmed to work will in linux?

i'm running ubuntu with an ati x1400 on my laptop...with compiz fusion on its max setting. everything is running fine. you have to use a different driver than the one provided for the ati device.
