I found the files downloaded them extracted them to a floppy, which I had to search for around my house a long with a floppy cable.

I got it all loaded up ran into another problem couldn't get my computer to boot into safe mode with command prompt found out it was my usb keyboard... had to use a ps2 adapter.

after, I get into the command prompt I start typing the stuff I found on the internet thinking it would work to no avail finally typed something in correctly only to come up with a list of what to pick end up picking #9 again what I thought was correct

went into more detail to figure out what was the correct one #7? tried that not working

Unfortunately I'm not at home or I'd point you in the direction of the thread that explains this clearly (I have it bookmarked).

A couple of things.
For me the easiest way to do this was:
Make a boot cd with the flashing files.
Boot from the cd.
Run the exe.

I can't remember what the exe was called, but I don't recall having to select a number. The configuration file or ini file that was included with the flashing files was already pre configured to flash to Prodigy.

If you are in a hurry I would just keep searching for Prodigy Flash and read the threads to clear things up. Otherwise hopefully somebody can point you to the right thread.

I've been looking I can't find anything usefull
this is what I am doing to both my C: and A:
I put the files in a directory named 'Eeprw'
in that file I have the eeprom.ini, eeprw.exe, and eeprwa.exe

I boot the computer press f8 go into safemode with command prompt

type the directory
C:\Eeprw\eeprw ( run off the HD )
or
A:\Eeprw\eeprw ( run off floppy )

read me says to do it like 'Eeprw> eeprw' but I get an access deny when I am admin on both my admin account and my account with admin privileges

it runs gives me a this list:

My guess, I could be wrong, is that you need to be in real DOS mode. Either with a boot CD, or a boot floppy.

ran that no PCI bus error but I the prodigy 7.1 drivers still don't install

got it working

anyone who finds this later this is how to do it

make a boot floppy ( my computer>right click on A:>click format> check box ms-dos disk> press ok to begin format

after the format is done

move the files below on your A:

eeprwa.exe
eeprom.ini
eeprwe.exe

don't put them in a folder* so my commands will be the same for you

restart the computer check in bios floppy is your first boot device and boot to is enabled

should boot to the floppy and be in dos mode

leave you with something like

A:\

type eeprwa ( and press enter )

it will say eeprom is ready blah blah

type eeprw ( and press enter )

a list will come up selecting 1-9 ( previously posted up the list )

type 9 ( press enter )

eeprom should flash the firmware to the card and you're done

turn off your computer, remove the floppy, boot ur pc

when you get into windows you may receive a pop-up saying new hardware and such cancel it

go to the Prodigy 7.1 website ( google it )

download the latest drivers for the Prodigy 7.1

install and reboot

*when I say type I mean actually do it don't write type
example: type 9 means '9'

When I did it, all I did was run eeprwa. After that I could install the Prodigy drivers. I never ran eeprw.

I think you are falling into the same trap I did last time I setup a 710. I set one up on my media center and everything worked fine. I set another up on my main PC and kept getting static from DTS files...

The problem was I did not have the signal going into a device with a DTS decoder. Doh!
I would guess you have bitperfect at this point. Unless you feed it into a device with a DTS decoder you won't be ablt to hear anything but static.
