The B-52 is Amazing!!!

I have seen the silver color used (not the amp but the finish), which is more like white and it is nice. I didn't think I would like anything but black, well maybe dark red with gold, but the white is striking.

I've had my silver B-52 for some months now, and couldn't be happier. Too bad that tubes market is quite disappointing in Europe...
Btw...where did you got these Tungsols many are referring to?

Maybe it has been covered. What is the wait time for a B-52?

... getting an itch....

Cheers,

I got mine in 4 weeks. Very fast. For the amount of work to build this beast and with the many amps Ray has to build i would think it would take a year lol.

I like the silver apache. Not so much for the b-52. I love the gold knobs with the black finish. The black also blends nicely with the tube glow. When i turn off the lights Its like looking at the stars at night

Very fast, maybe a month to two months max. Ray is quick, which is very rare among amp makers these days. The fact that his product is incredible puts the icing on a very professional cake.

You should go for it... the most beautiful amp on the market would go great with those Chinise, um, things you're sporting now

.

Seriously, though, I want a pair of those.

the B52 wows me everytime i listen to it. but it's a lot of coin. i may look for a more affordable way to satisfy my tube cravings. eddie current is supposed to put out a balanced tube amp sometime this year (may) for around $2000. plus little dot will have one available sometime in march for well under $1000. those may interest me.

as for the EH-1.3 it is very good, even on the basic solid state amp i am using with it. it has very good bass with some slam. outstanding separation of instrument and voice, and excellent detail. it is also not thin sounding or unmusical as some stats seemed to me. it has a very quick pace as well. it has some burn in now and still seems a tad bright although less forward, which is good. as for musical genres classical, other than string ensembles and violin, does not seem to be its forte. and acoustic guitar still seems a bit off. but for most rock and other genres it is very good.

what would you say are the weaknesses of the O2 and HE60?

edit: let's move the latter part of this conversation to the EH-1.3 thread.

I can't remember anymore, but I think I had a wait time of around 2 months, simply because I was in the "discounted intro-price Apache-list", then I changed my mind for the B-52 (and got some discount being in that promotional list). Ray had to craft and ship quite a few preordered Apaches before putting his hands on my amp, but I think that if you don't order during these particular periods, where new products are made available and preorders (rightly) have the priority, the wait should be shorter...
