I have to share this with all of you: Grizzly Industrials's Outlet is the best source for all sorts of cheap tools and discontinued items. What they don't include in their 2003 catalog goes to the Outlet. So you can buy some great tools at a deep discount (lots of Makita, DeWalt, etc.). Take a look...

Disclaimer: I'm not connected to Grizzly in any way. I'm just a client!

How do you come up with all these sites?! Don't you work or something?

Thanks for the link. It looks like a great place for inexpensive tools!

Good Job!! Lest we forget, there is also still the King of Cheap, well, almost disposable tools, www.harborfreight.com!

I benefit from the fact they have a factory outlet only a short distance from where I work, but they have a pretty comprehensive web site too. Great for that weird tool you are probably going to use only once.

In all fairness, my 18V "Chicago Electric" cordless drill for $39.95 has been pretty durable, still on the original battery for over a year, and it has done everything I have needed over that time, including a few deck screws (not an entire deck :). So has my angle grinder, floor jack, jack stands, and the miscellaneous tarps, tie-downs, duct tape, tiewraps, electrical connectors, etc.
Compared to Harbor Freight, Northern Tools is "overpriced" !!

Gariver, I know you were talking about aluminum, check out the Multipurpose Machine they have, a mill, drill, lathe, and a few other things for only $699! I want one in my garage just so it at least looks like I know what I am doing!! Maybe I'll get the Mini Multipurpose Machine for only $399 though!!

Of course, I work. At the moment, I've got two jobs going. Why? I'm a certified workaholic! That's why!

Anyway, I've known about Grizzly for quite a while. I mean, they used to send me their catalog. Now it's e-mails. Ha! They try to sell stuff at very good prices. So I decided to share Grizzly with all you guys. The bargains are there for sure!

Harbor Freight is also a good source for bargain goods. I agree completely with da_burl. There's a difference, though. You can find brands like Makita, Bosch and DeWalt selling at bargain prices over at Grizzly. That's just great!

Best way to find cheap tools on the net...
Use Google.com with a precise model number. Here's an example: "Bosch 1587"

This post is important!

I was not aware that I could help Head-Fi when I buy things at Amazon.com! I learned this by reading one of Flasken's posts.

How do you do this? You enter Amazon.com through a link on Head-Fi's opening page! If you do that, Head-Fi gets 5% of the money you spend at Amazon. Great! I want to buy some low-priced, reconditioned power-tools, and I will do it through Head-Fi!
