Do the resistors in the feedback loop have any noticeable difference to the sound quality? Just wondering, as I've got a semi-SMD project in the works and can't get good quality SMD resistors. I'm trying to save space though, and I'm using them wherever I can...

cheers

While technically "in the signal path" it is moremore important to tighly match the resistors for L/R channel circuits.Don't sweat the actual part .
Where resistor "sound" is more critical is in the input and output lines, bypasses less so (load resistors)

well, actually, the type of resistors do matter. If you have regular carbon resistors, they'll tend to change in resistance as the temperature changes. With cost in mind, the best are metal film resistors, which change less with temperature. However, they do give a cooler sound than exotic carbons.

well yeah but I assumed we were more talking about carbon film, metal film, exotics and not carbon,

Though I have used carbons to good effect once matched in low gain circuits
