Ibasso D2..

Thanks. I sent an email this morning and have not heard back yet but perhaps will hear something by tomorrow a.m. Seems odd, the whole non-communicado thing, but it aint the end of the world neither....especially with everyone else saying they have heard from them and many who have received their amp. I really don't expect fast shipping. I just was looking for an order confirmation, which seems to be the case with about everything else I order on the internet.

My tracking started working 24 hours before I got it. It took about 41 hours hours to get here - when it got to UPS at 8am 3/5 in China that was about 5pm 3/4 for us in Colorado. When it got here 10am 3/6 that was about 1am 3/7 in China.

I have about 20 minutes on it right now, and from doing A/B comparison with my Predator says the D2 should burn-in to be a great amp/dac. It has strong bass out of the box that is a little uncontrolled, and it isn't quite as open and relaxed yet so it sounds a little boxy or colored in the midbass and lower treble. Out of the box it sounds much better than the predator did out of the box. Then again, my Headsix and Lyrix sounded great out of the box, yet the Predator left those behind in the dust as it burned-in past 500-600 hours, and by 1100 hours was even better when I shipped it to Skylab for a review.

So, D2-Viper will be a great amp I am sure, but it needs to burn-in for a while before I try to do another A/B with any other amps.

Well, I heard from iBasso...order confirmed, and shipped. Faster than my expectations...all I wanted was an order confirmation. So, I am pleased to write this here now.

I ordered on Monday also, looking forward to a new toy.

I used ASIO4ALL with the D1 without any problems, I would assume it would work with the D2

D2 uses a totally different DAC though.

Take a look at the 7 pages of mostly krap now that are in the thread you started barely 24 hours ago to be "pristine". It's now almost worthless with all the ramblings, inside jokes, and what I think are off topic posts.

Like I said, I didn't imagine people to follow the rules. I just wanted to deter the comments to a minimum, and honestly in that thread there is 3x as much useful information already as does this thread. For some reason I feel like people are taking this personally. Anyways, the new thread was made so most of the useful information could go there so people don't have to browse forever threw pages and pages of trash like both our posts here.

Now... they used completely different chips so I thought it is not for sure if it works or not. Anyway, as someone already said that it works: Great

I wonder why they wanted such a high gain? Yes a few of the D2's went out this way but at least they will pay for the shipping (I inquired about some sound differences being discussed). I sent them the D1 to check by USPS express it took 3 days. I couldn't believe how fast they got it.

I got the same message, I guess they know which ones have the high gain. When I listen to my HD580 with the DAC, casual listening is about 930 and anything past 1100 is defining (high gain, low gain is a little less). From about 1030 to 1100 the sound climbs at an exponential rate. Does this sound like a unit with high gain, sounds like it, just dreading to send it back.

Also I mentioned having problems with my computer, when I use the DAC the unit pops and has static. This DOES NOT happen on other computers. One thing is weird, when I listen through DAC while ripping, there is no static or popping, anyone know what may be wrong? Thanks
