This is such an iconic album, the songs are so innovative & so well produced not to mention the playing & singing ... Hey of course !  It's the BeaTles !  It's funny though how over the years my favourite BeaTles' album has changed.  Back in '75 Abbey Road was it; then, eventually, it changed to MMT; then I liked "The Beatles" (a.k.a. White Album) most & now since last year it's Rubber Soul.  It seems the older I get the more I appreciate their mellow stuff more.  Just the opening line of the song "Girl" : "Is there anybody going to listen to my story, all about a girl who came to stay ?"  The plaintive raw emotion emitted by Lennon's voice makes the hair on my arms stand.  Good God they were something else weren't they ?

Of all the Beatles album this is my favorite. Granted I only really started listening to them 2 years ago but I dove right in and bought the entire Abbey Studios 2010 remaster set and was spoiled with fidelity from the get-go.

Abbey Road, White Album, Revolver, SGT Pepper all are excellent to in their own ways but Rubber Soul to me is top. Who knows, years from now it might change but first listen to all the albums I thought it stood out in its own way most to my ears.
