One new album today, in the unconventional form of a 45RPM 12-inch.

Appalled by an auto ad using Eminence Front I thought I'd revisit this one. More of a Pete Townshend album with the Who as session musicians then an actual Who album it still is worth a listen.

Local Natives - Gorilla Manor.

I already downloaded this one in mp3 a few years ago when it came out, but as I've recently started getting into this hi-def audio thing, I decided to go back and re-buy a few of my old favorites (Pearl Jam - Ten; Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot; Modest Mouse - We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank), and this one definitely counts as a favorite. Not sure how to describe the music--bits of world beat, some rock, some pop, some jazz... they're eclectic but only in the very best way. Saw them live in 2012 and it was one of the best shows I've ever been to. Anyway, really enjoying the much-expanded sound over the old mp3s. It's almost like listening to the album new all over again.
