What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Nice I don't know much of their stuff at all but "Clones" is easily my favorite song (that I know of so far)

Their name is kind of funny as I love muscle cars and restoring a 72 chevelle would be a dream come true for me.  Just scrolled through their wiki and "The name Chevelle came from the band members' passion for fast cars. It was also a car their father liked"

In contrast, I absolutely love this group:

Yes, I believe you are right about that. I'd say that their dad owned a Chevelle, and then the sons gave themselves the group-name after the car in honorary form, you might say.

As far as the song 'Clones' ... Well there have been some rumors to suggest that this song was written to de-bunk some type of false notion going 'round that Chevelle is nothing more than a Tool-wanna-be band. Or, a "clone" of Tool. Evidently the songwriter (I believe Pete Loeffler) was taking the devil's advocate stance by saying '...your just a clone of them...' But regardless of whatever mainstream society wants to tag them as, I completely disagree with the notion that Chevelle is a Tool-wanna-be band. And I believe that they can hold their own pretty well ... Now, wouldn't you agree?

My favorite Aerosmith album. Downloaded today at 24/96 WAV from HDTracks. At first listen, it sounds brighter, cleaner (less muddy) and has more "punch" than my previous versions. I'm liking it!

Just now listening to the new Foster The People album.  Pretty meh.

Are you a fan of Torches, or just a casual listener to the band? I'm waiting to buy Supermodel until prices come down a bit, but I'm a big fan of Torches and would be disappointed if this didn't sound quite the same. Can you elaborate on what made you dislike it?

$18? What a racket HDTracks has going!

I picked up the remastered CD on eBay for $4 last year and ripped it to FLAC. I agree it sounds better than the original.

Oh well, I guess they have to charge something for the convenience of downloading it Right Now. I had to wait 5 days for it to arrive in the mail.

Sounds quality is about the same. It's not noticeably badly mastered. I guess I'm just not enjoying these tracks as much as I did with with their last album, I'm not a huge fan, I didn't even know they came out with new music until yesterday lol.

Just to be fair I didn't go back and listen to torches to compare sq or anything, it just sounds average compared to all the other music coming out today dynamically.

Looks like you made a smart purchase, based on the format and resolution you prefer. Clearly, fast-downloadable higher-resolution files aren't for everybody's budget or taste.

Her is a local Irish artist who is on the cusp of success. He is very good indeed - hope you all enjoy. No album as of yet but his 2 E.P's are top notch - great lyrics/ great song writing/ great playing. Of all the singer song writers out there at the moment I think he is easily at the top of the pile.

I especially think you would enjoy this - DLeeWebb
