great post - i really like the use of strings in that track. I wonder if the double bass player is also using a bow or is that the cello? It sounds a bit deep for a cello. I might have to get this album. Does the rest of it hold up? 

I'll have to give the rest of this album a listen. I like what I heard above!

BTW, I'm pretty sure it's a cello. Sounds too thin to be a bass.

Is this any good? I saw this at my local record store a while back for a quite affordable price for an ECM release, but I was wary of grabbing it as an impulse purchase without knowing anything about it.

Rush - Hemispheres
 
The recent Audio Fidelity hybrid SACD mastered by Kevin Gray. Nice 'n' dynamic as expected. Not the biggest Rush fan though, but I've always really enjoyed Geddy Lee's vocals for some reason.
