From my college days-this is a really heavy fun rock/alternative album.....saw them open for Metallica's "And Justice for All" tour....back when both of those bands were vital :)

The Human Abstract - Digital Veil
(favorite track: Antebellum)

This is perhaps of my favorite albums of 2011 and still remains a favorite of mine. The album's mastering can be quite horrid on some songs, but I dare not let it distract me from what I consider to be one of the most brutal yet elegant record ever made from THA. I do have to EQ it a few decibels down when listening to it via headphones however. The album featured the return of the group's A.J. Minette (who can be considered the primary composer of the entire album) along with the arrival of vocalist Travis Richter. The group's music lends itself to a variety of genres, but leans more towards both metal and classical elements. It isn't poorly composed and the album's multitude of elements mesh together quite well. In blatant terms, I highly recommend the album despite it's sound quality. It is full with expression and sincerity.
