Would running a continuous LF sine tone (30Hz~40Hz) at loud volumes burn in the headphones well? I think this may be a good option since it is virtually inaudible and then I can burn them in while I sleep.

I live in the same tiny room as my headphone, so...

Or would that alter the future sound of the headphone in any way? Hmm...

Nothing beats Pink Noise. If you have a radio with a headphone jack, just turn to a station with nothing but static (that's pink noise) turn the volume to normal listening levels, and let it play. If this bothers you when sleeping, hide the thing in the closet under pillows

After 48 hours straight of this your headphones should be burn in quite nicely.

Do what KR.. recommended for a few days, then I'd make a CD with a bunch of different bass tones from 20hz (sampled at a lower volume of course to prevent driver damage) up to, say, 50hz or so, and then a bunch of low-end rumbling samples.

I'd run that CD for a day at low volumes and then turn it up a bit higher.

Some people have reported huge changes for the better in their headphones' bass response when doing this.

Cheers,
Geek
