I think Gemini Electronics has taken over distribution of headphones bearing the Philips name in the USA. And there is no SBC-HS900 at all in the catalog. The highest-numbered HS-series 'phone is the SBC-HS800.

redbool, is it the one whose headband goes behind the neck?

Oh, I saw the SBC-HS900 on Philips' UK catalog. They are the over-the-head type. (The HS900 isn't officially available at all in the USA.) And Gemini Electronics isn't importing any of Philips' higher-end headphones into the USA, only some of their crappy lower-end ones.

no the headband goes on top. the one that goes around the neck is the hs910 on the site. from the pictures, it seems like they are identical except for the headband bit.

redbool, I've edited the post to say that the HS900 is not a USA-market headphone at this time.

I just spotted these at Virgin Megastore. Anybody know anything about them yet?

They're also alot cheaper - about $30 retail. I think they're more likely to be a substitute for the 550s (or an upgrade for the 170s) than for the more expensive Philips cans.
