Various Lunch Box II Impressions

Just ordered some tubes to roll in the LBII 5670 and 6FC7's.
I wanted to ask LBII owners using 32 ohm headphones: where are you setting the volume knob for normal listening? With my Equation Audio RP-21's I am listening at between 12 and 1 o'clock.(The lowest setting being 6 o'clock). The gain switch is in the 'L' position. Is this the experience of other low impedance headphone users?
The LBII is a sweet listen nice warm liquid musical presentation. I am finding this amp very easy and natural sounding.

I really like my LB II
The build quality is great, the price is more than fair and it is a fun amp to have. You can roll some tube and I have just ordered a C7 power cord from PS Audio, The Power Punch. More on the sonic improvements using the new power cord to come. Craig at Eddie Current knows his stuff. IMO The LB II is a bargain in well made and nice sounding tube headphone amps.EDIT: I just got the PS Audio cable and it doesn't fit. The LB II has a C7 looking cable but the connection is much smaller???

Up-date: RE: C-7 connection on LB II
A closer look revels the LB-II has a rounded housing around the poles like a half circle above and below socket and the PS Audio cable has a keyed plug with a square and a half circle. Anyone know if there is an adapter for this or shall I just round off the square? BTW I have posted this in the DYI forum as well.

So a quick call to PS Audio and 10 seconds with my pocket knife has solved it! Seems the squared plug is for polarized applications and the LB II is not polarized. I just filed down the square edges, you can put a square peg in a round hole.Learn something everyday

Impressions of the PC up-grade to come.

I have just a few hours on the PS Audio Power Punch power cord. I have the 3m length with the C-7 end on the Lunchbox II. My initial impressions are nothing short of fantastic. The addition of this PC has dramatically improved the sonics of the LB II. More impact, dynamics, presence, depth and clarity. The Lunchbox II sounds like it is now displaying its full potential. I would strongly recommend a PC up-grade to any one who owns a LB II. The improvement is well worth the up-grade (IMHO). Just remember you may have to do a little whittling with your pocket knife if the cable comes with the keyed end like the PS Audio cable does.

I have rolled the tubes in the LB II which offered a good improvement. The PC up-grade took the whole LB II experience to another level. If you own a LB II you know the stock PC is not much. Up-grading the PC might just blow your mind as it has mine

. In doing research for a PC I found Audioquest and PS Audio have C7 power cords there may be others.
