Does anyone know

(1) Was there an improvement in the 2005 DT770 Pro over the older model?
(2) Do they differ in appearance....in other words, how do I distinguish one from the other?

many thanks

The 2005 DT770's are better than the old DT770/250's, by a wide margin.

The DT770/80Pro, however, which are still available and are old style in terms of housing, always sounded better than the old version regular DT770/250. I actually prefer the DT770/80Pro over the current (2005) DT770/250. The 05 DT770 has a more pronounced treble than the 770/80Pro, and some will prefer that. But I prefer the overall smoother presentation of the 770/80Pro.

Why don't those say "2x80 ohm" on them below the "Professional Right" like all of my Pro80's do?

Appreciate your help Gsurge, but with respect, I think the picture of your "old" one is in fact the new DT770 Pro, and your picture of the "new" one is in fact the new DT770 Hi Fi version.
What I'm trying to get is a pic of the 2003 version DT770 Pro

thanks

GSurge's pics are correct. There is no "new" DT770 PRO (yet).

I'm pretty sure I got the pictures right. I apologize if I didn't. I didn't know there was a 2003/Hi-Fi discrepancy.

Edit: nvm.
