I remember someone saying (I dont remember who) that they originally started with the smallest buds, then eventually went to the medium, and was now using the biggest size. So obviously these stretch your ears a little bit.

I was using the medium and I found they werent staying in as well so I've changed to the large. Now my question is this, what happens when the large stops fitting well? So if any of have experienced this, tell me what you think. Especially if the guy who was now using the large.. are the large still fitting ok? Because if the large stops fiting, these earphones are pretty useless.

Thanks.

i've only used the medium for the last year or so, and my ear canals haven't stretched. sometimes the gaskets get a little slick so they seem to come out easier, but if i wipe them off they return to normal. also, i believe the rubber can break in, making them more pliable and comfortable, but also more likely to get pulled out.

Uh oh... what happens when your ears have stretched to the largest size? Will we eventually be using Goodyear Radial T/A as plugs?

But seriously... I like these phones, they are a good budget way of listening in a noisy environment, but outside of an airplane there are many better headphones to choose from. I have been comfortable with the medium plugs since buying them.

Yep thats me...

Now, though, the fit levelled off at medium on the left ear and large on the right (it was small on both ears initially). It should level out at a point eventually and you will be fine.

However, ever since getting the Etymotics, the EX70 fit just has not been the same... crazy things are happening to my ear...

and inside an airplane all they have are those ultra-cheapo headphones for $4 each!

waka-waka! just the groucho in me coming out.

that "stretching" remark made me think of someone i know who has ear plugs (big dime sized holes in his ear lobes). he wanted me to find him some giant cans for his now big ears, with their stretched out lobes. i suggested he get some e888 earbuds and thread the wires through his plug-holes, so they could hang from there when he's not using them...
