any reliability issues I should be aware of for the EMP?

also, might be able to get the EMP for $600 shipped. (used) is that a good price that I should jump on?

thanks guys, for any advice you can give

I've had my EMP for about two years now and have had zero problems.

As for as a good used price, I can't comment on that. I'm pretty sure there are a few Head-Fi members that could field this question!

Took the words right out of my mouth, Rick.

The best price new that I've seen is from Stone Audio in UK, at $659 USD and $450 Euro. Don't know about shipping though. Also depends on what voltage you have in Singapore.

Stay away from Stone Audio..I ordered an EarMax Pro from them in towards the end of November for UKP356 including shipping (they pricematched Nutwood Music's price)..not only had they not shipped the item by the end of DECEMBER, they wouldn't refund my money..called them up three times and got crap excuses like "our bookkeeper's not in today". I've just filed a complaint with my credit card issuer, and the funds should be debited to my credit card in a few days.

Mine is only half a year old – no problem so far. BTW, I paid €520 + Shipping at HiFi Belzer, Germany, for a new one.

i got my from stoneaudio thinking they'd be a good retailer but was i wrong. i even asked if there was stock prior to ordering and they said yes! took 3 month and dozens of overseas calls (they dont return email) and for the last month i tried canceling but theyd come up with excuses.. finally they shipped it, good condition if only it was 3 month earlier without the hassle. Second hand would be most welcoming at that stage, much much easier and faster.

no problem with the little cutie.

Looks nice, but is much too expensive! For my last holidays I packed my EMP in a foam-padded cardboard box, the whole thing in a rucksack... worked well, but didn't look so worthy. I just love my EMP, even can't spend my holidays without it...

i'm in a dilemma now, one head-fi-er's opinion is that the 3X as expensive EMP is spades more than my $150 meta42..another's is that its pretty close..what do the rest of ya think?

depends what you mean by spades and how much ure willing to spend. the difference gets smaller the higher up you get, becoming rather personal in value and sound. i'd still think its worthwhile investment to match your phone.

Ablaze,

guess you're going for it. let me know please once your AT and Sony cans have run in. I'll email maz to have the Senn HD-600 as well - maybe even try the Cardas if Rohit hasn't arrive in Singapore.

Do note that the € is on the rise again - last time I checked it was 1.84something to the Sing $. I know as I just ordered a shipment of Corda.
