Well, I have received my 160 GB Black X7 yesterday and I am having eargasms right now.
1. It is bigger than other machines, but it does not feel so big once it's in your hands. Some people may be curious about it, so I'm telling you: it fits in my shirt pockets easily. And neither my body nor my pockets are larger than what you would call "regular size" - no pun intended.
2. The sound quality is amazing as expected. Certainly much better sounding than both Ipod 6th gen and Zune 120. The customizable EQ is awesome.
3. The screen is much more responsive than how I feared it would be. I noticed that under the "System" settings there is a "Touch Calibration" section. The responsiveness and accuracy improved greatly after I used the back of a pen instead of my finger to calibrate it. I strongly advise you to play with it to get the best results.
4. The user manual in the box was Korean, but getting around the UI was a piece of cake. The UI is not hard to use at all, though it needs to be slightly improved via firmware updates. A "next" button on the now playing (music, video) and now showing (pictures) menu would be nice, instead of having to go up one level to see the track list in the folder.
EDIT: I just noticed that with a swiping movement one can skip to the next track.
5. Somebody had asked how to switch to the text menu: hold the tactile "M" button on the bottom front and you will switch between text and widget/icon menu.
6. The quality of the sample videos seem quite fine to me. But I have to say these sample videos maybe the last videos ever to be in my X7, for I'm not a video-on-the-go person... So take my judgement of the video quality with a pinch of salt.
This much for now. In summary, up till now I'm delighted to have this thing!
I'll comment on the battery life later...
