After a long night of listening, I can say it is truly amazing! And yes, it is shockingly small. None of the pictures that I have seen convey the impact of how small this amp is. I will post a few pics later myself, along with some initial reactions. But this amp definitely has "wow" factor for me, even right out of the box.

Here is a quick and dirty pic or the Hornet and SR-71 sitting on top of my Micro amp. Also shown are my Beyer DT-880s and iPod 80G. I'll take more pics when I get them all. Still due in are the tomahawk and the XP-7. WWwwwhhhheeeee!

Holy cow. I just took delivery of the XP-7. A couple of quick impressions:

1) It's BIG. Compared with the other RSA stuff, this thing is a monster. Of course that's all relative. It's about 6" x 4"

2) The sound is incredible. I bought one with AD797 (as well as original) Op amps. Using this amp, I'm impressed with the DT-880s for the first time (I liked my HD-580s and 650s better). I've heard a lot of people say something to the effect that good cans need good amps, and using them with smaller amps doesn't get the sound they're capable of, but now I can start to hear the truth. Of course an XP-7 is probably the tip of the iceburg, but WOW!

YAY, I came home from work to find my hornet on the porch! Its looks are stunning and considering that my only other amp is the pa2v2, I've already heard quite a dramatic improvement in my HD595s. Can't wait to get the K701 and start listening and breaking/burning them in! I'll be listening through the whole process.

I absolutely love my Micro amp. I've had it for a few months now and I've used it everywhere from home, to the ferry to my NYC and NJ offices. I really like the layout, and the sound is awesome.

I'm not sure it will stand up to the XP-7, but that will take some testing. Testing that I'm more than happy to perform.
