Has anyone who has listened to these listened to either the Sennheiser MX400 or MylarThree X3? I own both of these now and am wondering if this will be a significant upgrade (even though I know the X3's are IEM's).

Owned all three PKs (still have the (PK1s), and across the board, they are quality products. In fact, since I sold my PK3s to a friend (at the regular price), I can't resist having a pair for my collection. You can't get better value-to-sound (or is it sound-to-value?) ratio than the $25 PK3s. I just gave a pair of Maximo IM-390s to my UPS guy (he's a good dude, and was using really cheap $5 ear buds). Didn't care much for the sound. But for $7 less (the Maximos were $32), the PK3s are head and shoulders above sound-wise.

Just thought I should ask but will there be any notification on if the headphones shipped on the 17th or not? or any emails to give a confirmation number? I have never really done group buy before.

also on a more important note. what experience have people had with the pk3's in the durability area of use? I don't think that I particularly abuse my headphones. However I know I initially had cheap ones that died then moved on to the sony psp headphones that ripped just past the headphone jack getting caught on a metal wire. and I was using sony e828's but according to reviews the right earbud dies after a few months and this happened on my 2 pairs so I am looking for something not prone to natural death from use over a short period of time. will the pk3's last (I have already ordered them anyway)? is there another earbud choice that lasts? I hate iem's as they make your breathing sound loud thus ruining all sound, that and they are just uncomfortable.

I figured these would be an update over my MX400's, just wondering if it is going to be enough difference to justify $25 for another pair of headphones.

I would imagine these sound better than X3's?

They're definitely a large step up from the MX400. I've owned each of the PKs, and I ended up sticking with the PK3 primarily because of their tremendous price-to-performance ratio. The PK2 and PK1 are great for hi-fi use, but for casual listening, the PK3 is the one to get.

Just quick, for those who own these, is the J cord a pain? I have never used one before but have heard that some people don't like them?

J-cord is a pain without a shirt clip since there is a lot of tugging on the left ear, but is easily remedied by using a shirt clip.

I thought I was gonna hate the J-cord, but I actually like it a lot now.

It's nice for me because I primarily use it at the office, and it's easy to take one bud out and let it hang over my shoulder when I need to talk to someone or hear what's going on around me. The J-cord also doesn't get in the way of my typing.
