Pizza Favorites?

Two hours to go before my night shift ends and this thread is making me seriously hungry!

Spicy beef with olives is pretty good. Chicken, barbeque sauce, tuna and mayo don't feel right on pizza.

don't know about tuna and mayo but chicken and barbeque sure feels right on my pizza, not to mention, my fingers, and my mouth...

My favorite is Hank's, over in Playa del Rey. It's just a little place I pass by on my commute, and decided to drop in one day. It's fantastic, and I've got the rest of my family and friends hooked on it. They make a great meatball sub, too. Still, I'm not terribly picky about pizza. There are a lot of good ones out there.

I've placed large orders for work/school/etc. a number of times over the years, and have made an interesting observation. Rarely, if ever, does anyone ask for a plain cheese pizza. However, I always order a couple anyway and they're usually the first to be finished. Why is that?

Italian style with tomatoes, rucola, prosciutto di parma and parmesan cheese.

Another vote for italian style. A simple margheritta with fresh rucola, fresh parmigiano reggiano cheese and spanish olive oil (arbequina variety) is my favourite. A good wood burning oven is very important too.

Second on the Papa Murphy's, and Duggeh, you have your pizza any way you want it. Narrow mindedness just means you miss out.

We've been getting Papa Murphy's DeLite thin crust white sauce veggie (spinach, mushroums, diced tomatoes) with roasted chicken. Then I put fresh cracked pepper, italian herbs, crumbled bacon, and parmesan cheese on it before I bake it. Very good stuff with half the calories and fat.

Or if you want a taste of Cajun flavor....

Sweep The Swamp - spicy crawfish, shrimp, andouille sausage, crab, bell peppers, onions and jalapeno peppers

If you're in the Washington DC metropolitan area, go to Ledo's Pizza and order the following:

Buffalo Pizza - Provolone cheese, roasted chicken, Frank's hot sauce, Ledo's marinara sauce, and blue cheese dressing on the side

Pizza, oh how I love thee...........

These two sound VERY good.

For my favorite, it's from a local place called Assagio's. Pepperoni, garlic (we're talking lots of garlic cloves), and fresh, sliced tomatoes. Just awesome!

I can think of two pizza joints that stand out in my mind as being particularly great:

Gianni's Pizza on Lighthouse Ave in Monterey is certainly my #1 pick, as every part of their pizzas are just perfect to me. Doesn't hurt that it's just a couple blocks up from cannery row and the aquarium. My favorite pizza to get here is sausage, extra cheese, extra garlic

Albano's Brooklyn Pizza on Melrose in LA is the best NY style pizza I've had (considering the closest I've ever been to NY is DC). Awesome thin crust and the best pizza sauce I've ever had. Here I like to keep it simple, just pepperoni and cheese.

It's funny, I always found Gianni's pizza to be just ok. I see that with pizza, like audio, taste is in the beholder's whatever!

The pizza in California is so bad that I have my friend ship me a pie from NYC every few weeks. I take my slices plain and sprinkle on some red pepper, garlic and oregano.
