Jarboe (The Swans) does a nice cover of the Dead Can Dance song American Dreaming. It's on the tribute album to DCD called The Lotus Eaters, quite a few other very good DCD covers on that album too.

"Summertime Blues" Eddie Cochran The Who, Blue Cheer, Rush
"Shakin' All Over" Johnny Kid The Who
"Young Man Blues" Mose Allison The Who

the Leeds concert was... pardon my language, ****ing EPIC. one of the best pure "hard rock trio" type concerts i've ever listened to. if i were only there...

"I Will Survive" Gloria Gaynor Cake

Cake is, hands down, the best band named after a tasty pastry. this song doesn't let down

"Dazed And Confused" Jake Holmes Led Zeppelin
"When The Levee Breaks" Joe McCoy Led Zeppelin
"I Can't Quit You Baby" Willie Dixon Led Zeppelin
"You Shook Me" Willie Dixon Led Zeppelin

everything they touched turned to gold. actually, it was already gold. change that to diamonds.

"Doctor My Eyes" Jackson Browne Ben Folds
"Tiny Dancer" Elton John Ben Folds

these ALMOST make up for his covers of Champagne Supernova and Lost in the Supermarket. almost...

"Kashmir" Led Zeppelin London Philharmonic Orchestra

wooh, ok i think i will just fire them off as they come to me now

"Roll Over Beethoven" Chuck Berry Electric Light Orchestra
"Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)" (their typing mistake not mine) Jimi Hendrix Stevie Ray Vaughan
"Behind Blue Eyes" The Who Limp Bizkit
"My Generation" The Who Hilary Duff
"Fuel" Metallica Avril Lavigine
"Rocketman" Elton John William Shatner

...ok, ok, i'll let you guess where i started joking. also, another thing:

3. Frank Sinatra 'Something'

Not just because Sinatra would introduce George Harrison's classic as the work of 'two kids called Lennon and McCartney'; or that he was always oddly unconvincing handling material that held any kind of contemporary resonance. It's simply that in the bridge, he's singing to someone called Jack. 'You stick around, Jack, she might show,' he roars. What on earth is going on? And who is Jack? We will never know.

frank sinatra is a genius.
