I bought my wife a set of pink MM's. My daughter stole them and now I have to buy another pair for Wifey...

They aren't bad, but they're no Koss KC75's...

I'm bringing them slowly around to "our side".

Yesterday I went running, so I grabbed my sisters ipod nano, (archos 504 is like running with a dumbell) and I got to use, the craptastic ipod earbuds. So I run 3 miles and there is a walmart. I had my wallet with me because I am in chicago on a school break, but the people here are still in school, so I had my school ID. So I went into walmart, grabbed em and stuck em in. First impresssion, HOLY BOOMING BASS BATMAN! Coming from an er6i user, these thinks have bass out the rectum, but they are definately more fun than my er6i.

Hehe they're damn expensive here in Canada compared to in USA. I got some imported by a member here and wow best 10$ I have spent. I'll use them this summer on my bike

I've never tried these, but others have stated they sound good but are a bit uncomfortable.

Personally I don't find the marshmallows to be too uncomfortable. They do make one ear itch but that could be dry skin or anything causing it. I do want to buy a second pair and mod them.

What kind of mod do you plan to perform? All Ive heard of is the ol' Shure e2 foamies mod.

how do these compare to other IEMs? Never used an IEM and I need something better than stock iBuds for my iPod, just how much better are 100 dollar IEMs over these?

My girlfriend has a pair of pink 'mallows with modded tri-flange (she use to complain on how the stock rubber inserts felt uncomfortable) for her nano and I have the westone UM1's ($100 iem) with the same mods to compare.

For the money, the JVC FX33 is a good value. It offers good isolation (with shure inserts complys/tri-flange) and offers a similar sonic trait as my UM1's, imo. Both are "fun" sounding. Just try not to be overly critical - yes, the bass is muddy and boomy, the highs tend to roll off and mids could be improved with more clarity. I highly doubt that you'll notice these "cons" if you have virgin ears - haven't heard a good pair of audiophile cans (stay away from them, it is very unhealthy for your bank account).

Nonetheless, the FX33 (marshmallows) is a night and day upgrade to the stock iBuds.

Well I find my A900s to be very good, I think that may have taken my virginity. However, I'm currently on iBuds for my iPod... so lol

kramer made a thread about his mod, i think it was remove the filter and insert some foam into the tube? maybe shorten the tube too, not sure. (by tube i mean the thing that the foamies or whatever go over)
