Right now for my portable setup I am using 5G Ipod > little dot micro+ > Sony MDR-G051 .. for a photo of the Sony headphones.. http://images.google.com/images?clie...-8&sa=N&tab=wi

Has anyone else used these Sony headphones before? They are pretty portable and I am actually quite surprised in the sound quality.. but everyone seems to absolutely love the KSC75's .. so I was wondering if I should get them and ditch the Sony's or if there isn't going to be much of a difference in sound quality?

Was even looking into the Sennheiser CX300's (friend has em, sound great with an amp)

Ive never heard those sonys before.

Bring your portable player to radio hack and demo the Pro35A sonically, its similar to the KSC75. this one... with the gray rubber headband.

Have you tried the Koss KTX-Pro1 ? Is the Koss KTX-Pro1 equivalent to Radio Shark Pro 35A ? It looks the same to me.

This is what kramer5150 posted in the thread Are there any non clip-on KSC75 equivalents?:

The only headbanded phone to sound close to the KSC75 is the Radio shack Pro35A. It has different foam earpads than the Koss KTX Pro1. The KTX and PRO35A are night and day different sounding. (despite their apparent similarities). The 35A is MUCH more open and spatious sounding, and doesn't have the muffled highs of the KTX.

Why on earth Koss would make two IDENTICAL headphones... except for the earpad foams is beyond me??? But the 2 are VERY different sounding.

After reading this, I tried looking for the Pro35A on ebay and on radioshack.com but I couldn't find any.

Another vote in favour of the KSC75s here. I bought my sister a pair for Christmas (also to audition them :p) and found them surprisingly comfortable and they sound quite good compared to similarly priced headphones I have listened to in the past.

Yes I own both.
The KTX is nearly identical except they screwed up on one part... the foam earpads on the KTX are dense and muffle the sound compared tto the 35A. The 35 A is a MUCh better sounding phone. If you pad swap the KTX it opens up the sound.

At first I couldn't believe my ears then I tried pad swapping and some mods. Sure enough the KTX opened up... WAY up.

they're great headphones for the price.

i find them good for everything but like electronic/hiphop stuff (because the bass doesnt go super low, so you notice ur msising some freqs in deep bass)

the bass is fine for real instruments, like a bass guitar sounds great.

acoustical guitar sounds awesome.

a great way to spend 15$

they are basically disposable at this price. if you are really into hiphop or electronic, i might go for the ep630 (which are basically the same as the senn 300s, just like half the price (30$ @ amazon)).

the ep630 doesnt have the cleanest bass (it can get boomy), but it does go low and seems great for hiphop and electronic.

You know, I have a pair of UE SF5Ps and I do like them for the isolation and great sound. But everytime I switch to my KSC75s (sometimes I have to switch at work to hear whats going on), I'm just surprised at how good (better than my SF5Ps?) these things sound. I *want* like heck to think my SF5Ps are head and shoulders over the KSC75 due to the price but I'll be hard pressed to hear it...

Oh, yeah. I forgot to mention that I own those. You probably got them with a Walkman like I did (nobody in their right mind would buy them otherwise). They're good for running and working out and stuff like that.
