1. Can CX300s be re-cabled? I hate the grippy housing Senn used. Constant tangles.

2. Can someone point in the right direction for getting started in doing my own re-cabling? I'd like to start with the CX300s & my Porta Pros (not sure what direction to go for these). I need a tutorial and cable sourcing.

well, i'm assuming you're new to soldering, but if not sorry for assuming. head over to the DIY section take a look at the "How to make an interconnect Step by Step" thread. its give good hints.

i dont know about the senns and how you open it up safely, but i would be really slowly and careful. those earphones really fragile drivers.

also i advice on watching the heat being apply to headphone diaphragm/driver, i killed a audio technica fc7 driver before because of that. for these little drivers, its better to do it quick in a few seconds and not hold the iron on it too long.
