New trailer out for Season 6 of 24, check it out here.

I thought it would be nice to have a thread where the few fans here can discuss the new season. Please give warning of any spoilers and assume that once the season starts Sunday Jan 14, 2007 that any discussions here will talk about the previous episodes (i.e. last night and anything prior) so don't read if you recorded it and have not watched yet.

Here's what comingsoon.net had to say about the new season:

"24," this year's most Emmy Award-winning television series (with five Emmys, including Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Kiefer Sutherland) and Outstanding Drama Series), sets the clock for "Day Six" with a four-hour, two-night television event Sunday, Jan. 14 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and Monday, Jan. 15 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on Fox

The fifth hour of "24" will air in the show's regular time period Monday, Jan. 22 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), and the intense season will unfold without interruptions until the season finale in May 2007.

As the clock ticks closer to "24"'s highly anticipated return, Fox will make a special, extended "Day Six" trailer available for worldwide viewing on the web. The online countdown to the trailer's debut begins today at 24Trailer.com. Fans around the globe can take their first look at Season Six by visiting the website on Tuesday, Oct. 24 (3:00 PM ET/Noon PT). The first promo for the new season is also scheduled to air during Game 3 of the World Series that night on Fox.

Season Five concluded with a battered and bloodied Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) captured by Chinese government agents and headed for points unknown. Season Six picks up 20 months later. After a series of horrific terrorist attacks, an unthinkable, nail-biting day begins.

Season Six will feature Wayne Palmer (DB Woodside), the strong-minded brother of the late President David Palmer; Sandra Palmer (Regina King), a determined and powerful advocacy lawyer; presidential advisors Karen Hayes (Jayne Atkinson) and Thomas Lennox (Peter MacNicol); and CTU colleagues Chloe O'Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub), Curtis Manning (Roger Cross) and Bill Buchanan (James Morrison).

The cast also includes James Cromwell, recurring as Phillip Bauer, the estranged father of Jack Bauer, as well as Kal Penn (Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle), Marisol Nichols ("In Justice"), Alexander Siddig (Syriana), Harry Lennix ("Commander in Chief") and David Hunt ("Everybody Loves Raymond") as villainous accomplice Darren McCarthy. Eric Balfour and Carlo Rota will reprise their respective roles as CTU contractors Milo Pressman and Morris O'Brian.

I CAN'T WAIT!!!

I "discovered" 24 two or three episodes into Season 5 and I was hooked.

I bought all box sets that came before and the wife and I devoured all of them in about 3 months.

Now, I need to buy the Season 5 set (out Dec?) just to catch the episodes I missed. I still don't quite know how Jack came out of hiding, as the first episode I watched had him involved at an airport being a hostage.

I didn't know anything had been let out yet about season 6. Obviously it starts out with the Chinese. Won't this be one of the rare times that Jack will be outside the US, let alone LA? Except, of course Mexico from S3.

What else have we learned about S6?

Sometimes I think 24 doesn't stand for the hours in the day, but how many lives Jack Bauer has!!!

I heard Wayne Palmer will be President and his sister an attorney. I also heard that Audrey would be back but I don't think I saw her in the trailer and from what I heard they will likely wait to bring her back in. I also heard Logan will be woven back into the day somehow around episode 9 or 10.

They need a new evil woman like Nina or Palmer's wife (can't remember her name). They have cool evil women in 24.

Dina Araz (Shohreh Aghdashloo) was the absolute coolest villain... just because of that voice! Man she rocked!

Yea, she was good too. But I was unsure through most of the season if she was Evil or just borderline. She definitely was anti-American, but was not willing to sacrifice her son like her husband was. Showed she was a little human.

Her voice sounded like she smoked 10 packs a day!

Well Nina has probably been the worst just because she has no cause... just herself... that look she gave the camera after killing Jamie in season 1 was just chilling.

Have you heard if S6 has Jack in China?

I'm looking forward to see how Jack deals with this. That ending scene with the tanker ship blew my mind. How are they going to find him?

I can see Curtis saving the day on this one with Buchanan and Chloe working behind the scenes.

Curtis rocks too! Hes like Jack Jr. or African American Jack.

This goes without saying, but I'm saying it anyway

I miss President Palmer, Tony and Michelle bad.

Yeah, if you watch that trailer again it looks like the Chinese release Jack... not sure how things work out but they must have realized Jack Bauer can't be killed!

I was totally bummed when they killed off Tony and David... I really liked both of them and thought they would be regulars! Makes me wonder how long Chloe, Bill and Audrey will last! I do like Curtis but I wish he had more of a role... I don't hear him talk enough to really get attached to his character... season 5 was probably the best so far at developing Curtis but I'm not attached to him like I was with David or Tony.

Face it: The only "regular" on the show is Jack. Everyone else is a gonner sooner or later.

Awesome! Too bad its still going to be a while before it will air. I think the only way this show will be able to end peacefully is if Jack is killed off somehow otherwise there will always be people wanting it to come back. Although I don't want to see that happen but I don't see any other way of them ending it.

I assumed that Wayne Palmer would be the president from the trailer too. As far as Audrey (Kim Raver) goes...it says on her IMDB page that she is in 24 from 2006-2007...but right now she is already on the new ABC show "The Nine" so who knows...

Too funny, although I really worry about what Kiefer said in the A&E special between Seasons 4&5 that anyone on the show, including him is expendable.

I still believe Curtis's character will be further developed and will be used to back up Jack; however, that can all change if they find a more powerful #2. Tony was the best to back Jack up.

However, this is my favorite show, even in place of Star Trek reruns. It is somewhat polarizing; many people love it; many just don't get it and can't fathom experiencing a day with that much action. I'm just glad I enjoy it so much; it is my go-to DVD collection (when it is not loaned out) for continuous , season-to-season watching! We should rent out a theater for a few days and get them to play all five seasons at one sitting
