Is 26 AWG Cable ok?

Would 26 AWG cable be suitable for use to recable headphones/make interconnects?
Yes. There are bugger all ( <- technical term) currents flowing in the wires in these situations.

I'd say braided 26 is my favorite gauge for everything but power cables. 28 is too small, 24 gets hard to flex in 2-3 wire braids

I have 26awg wire in my recabled headphones and it works fabulously. Thick enough to get the job done, but thin and flexible enough not to be a pain to have hanging from my head.

Psst, that's the technical term we professionals use for just about nothing.

Exactly. It stems from there being so little of the item in question (in this case current) that there is all but a bug's worth present, and we all know how small insects can be.

Does help?

lol one could always look up wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bugger ignore the sexual connetations, go straight down to usage; or one could get a book of australian slang, to give you internationals an english lesson

We created it Garb, I could even claim royalties - I'm Bulgarian.

Yeah but it takes an australian to create a TV add that uses the word bugger about 10 times (even the dog says it), to sell a toyota ute

Did you get stranded or solid? I use 26awg stranded and its enough for most anything. For solid I would get two strands of 26gauge and manually twist them.

ok, so in this case which one is better quality wiring:

Quad copper 4 x 26 awg

or

Pure copper 4 x 22 awg

So just what is 'Quad Copper' and 'Pure Copper' and why would it matter?
