What have you all use to prevent shorts when using something like an altoid tin for a enclosure?

I line the tin with electrical tape, two layers. Make sure you also cut the leads of the on-board components down as flush to the board as you can. Then, put a couple of layers of electrical tape on the bottom of the board as well.

Sounds good to me, any recommends on punching holes in the tins?

Also, is it possible to wire up two LEDs?

Start by using some masking tape around the perimeter of the tin. I use the actual securing nuts for the jacks, pot, and switch to use a guide to mark where the holes will go. Use an awl to punch a small starter hole (the masking tape will prohibit the awl from "running" and creating a nice scratch in the paint). Remove the tape and start drilling. Use a small bit for the first hole, and then go every other bit size until you get to correct size hole.

Take your time and you'll get a nice clean opening.

Sure, but there is only one LED pad on the board so you would have to be creative.
