Can the squealing be fixed for good?

Otherwise this phone looks excellent. I just read a very thorough review of it along with artificial head measurements. It looks like the phone I've after: extremely neutral (clearly more tonally neutral than comparable Stax models), transient accurate and ALMOST within my price range. Almost.

I think I could fix the headphone amplifier related problems with this unit, but if the squealing is a design mistake, I'm not sure it's curable.

Any comments?
