I'm confused as to what to do next with my audio setup.
I'm going to be buying a new amp (either an RS HR-2 or a Raptor) but want to make sure I have a good signal going into whichever I choose.
Right now I'm at a loss because I don't know enough about how these things work to make a decision, so here are my options.
I can buy a really decent DAC and a better soundcard and use my PC as the source, but I'm worried about how well a PC's CD player can read the data. I'd basically be looking along the lines of PC CD -> Lavry/Bel Canto/Apogee/Benchmark/other(?) DAC -> HR-2/Raptor -> headphones
Alternatively, instead of buying a DAC, I could buy a decent CD player. I'm looking at something in the £400-£500 range here.
What's most likely to work here, where should I be shelling out the cash?
