My first impression: simply WOW!!!!

This is a fantastic combination for me

.
My only problem is that I have to wait until the weekend to try this amp with my 595's. I'm sure i will have even bigger Wow effect

I don't have other equipment to compare to, so take this with a grain of salt. . .

I've been listening to my LDM+ and K81s for several days now. I'm really happy. It's great how crisp the sound is. Bass is tight and punchy, mids and highs brought forward a bit. So far the only background noise I've noticed is in the recordings, granted the K81s aren't terribly sensitive.

I also like that the LDM+ has a slender profile and small footprint overall—portability was important to me when choosing an amp.

Again, I'm very happy.

nano > ALO cryo dock > LDM+ > recabled AKG K81

The same here. The biggest difference with k81's is in the lower range. This amp opens up the k81's bass, and makes the highs more crispy. Now i have the feeling that the k81's sounds perfect for me

Anyone have used this amp with HD595's??? I'm planning on getting a pair... How's the sinergy? Is it too bright as a setup or well balanced? I really need some opinions on this before shelling out such an amount of money...

I just got my LDM+ for my Sennheiser HD555. I'm not well-versed in audiophile terms but anyway here goes:

My setup: Chaintech AV-710 (Lineout) -> LDM+ -> HD555
Compared to an an unamped HD555 from AV-710 line out, the bass recessed a little and i think this opened up a lot of detail the HD555 is capable of. Soundstage seems to be moved a little farther.

I have been using the amplifier for a few hours. I will post back any further findings that i may perceive

So far i'm enjoying the sound that i'm hearing

Hope it helps

Possibly with a better amp (& source) in the future

Andrea!!! I've starting burning in a 180 euros brand new pair of headphones not longer than 1 hour ago and you're already telling me to get a better source/amp???? Curse you!!!

The upgraditis bug is already hitting hard enough on me!!!

I got the 595's because I wanted a more balanced can in respect to the 485's
485's are fun but their sound sugnature does not pair well with some kinds of music.
The 595 is a good all-around performer and with a flatter FR / more balanced sound... That's what I was looking for!

I'll post my impressions after a good burn-in (do you think 100 hours is enough with the 595's?)

I don't want to post any opinion until they have at least 60 hours of burn-in on them. Just be patient, in the weekend I will make an extensive listening session with the 595's and then post my impressions on the LDM+/595 combo

Sorry for the late reply...

I guess that's why I said in the future

100 hours is enough for the HD595 to begin to open up... In fact it'll continue to improve for the first (let's say) 400 hours.

Such was my experience with it - it just seemed to sound better and better.

I received my LDM+ today. Impressive (little) box.

With the UE Super.fi 5 Pros, the normal gain version doesn't have much travel (as previously mentioned). There is audible hiss (even with nothing connected to line in) with the volume at the lowest setting, and slowly goes away as you turn the volume up.

With that said....it sounds very nice. Straight out of the box it's got tight bass, nice mids, and detailed highs. I'll post more on the LDM+ and GV5 as they get burned in. The volume knob's travel usable range is from about 8 to 10 (11 on quieter recording/songs) on the 'dial'. Any less shows volume imbalance tracking, and any more just kills my ears.

I'll post some pics of the setup soon.

HTH.
