Inside look: A high-end balanced crossover

This is a brief look at Vandersteen’s M5-HP Balanced Highpass Filter. Vandersteen’s x-overs/subs deliver very high fidelity at -- by high-end standards -- a moderate price. Their approach is unorthodox in the way the filter is placed BETWEEN the lineout and poweramp. Used in conjunction with my Vandersteen 2W subwoofer, the sound is extremely good (see sig for links to components).
