a permament solution to a computer (or any other) noise is to buy IEMs.... ER4, UE-10, Sensaphonics...
How do i make my laptop be quiet?

Yeah IEM's work well for isolation.
Unfortunately, some laptops are just really noisy by design.
Maybe a thread could be started on what are really loud vs. really quiet laptops for use as HeadFi rigs.
I don't know about other Mac Notebooks, but the iBook G4 is really, really quiet, eerily so.
Just a thought: For XP laptop users using Itunes, use long headphone cord extension and a USB infrared remote control.
