Dear Head-fellows !

I have enjoyed very much this head-fi life lately...

This is the story of my gear: Nakamichi DVD 10S>microZOTL>HD600

The HD 600 are getting better and better. They have about 70 hours of hard work now.

But, the Naka S10 headphone output is very very good. And sounds almost (big time almost) the same as ZOTL !!! I'm using an old "so so" not shipo but regular cable for interconnecting. My thought is that I can upgrade this interconnects for any thing better and make ZOTL show it's very best sound. It maybe a "delivery" problem.

My budget is about 300$ for it. So, what to do first? Cardas for HD 600 or a good interconnect between Naka/ZOTL ?

Or I can use this 300 box and solve both problems? Hope you guys understand my English… Sorry about that…I'm working on it...

I say go for the upgrade cord for the HD600.

Get the Cardas for the 600's. My thinking is that it will make the biggest difference. Also, interconnects are easy to find, but the headphone cable is a specialty item that could go away at any time. Get it while you can.

The cardas HD600 cable will cost you $150, so only half your budget. I'd reccomend purchasing that. With the remaining $150 you should be able to buy some perfectly good interconnects to replace your current ones. Heck, just buy pair of outlaw interconnects for $50 and save yourself $100!

for just about 265.00 you should be able to get outlaws pca and cardas cable replacement, a very worthwhile upgrade that I have just made recently myself.

I'd say chill out and listen to your system for a while. You need to burn it in more

For $300 you could also go silver and get cardas...

I'm very happy with my setup. I'm rediscovering my CDs. Old recordings like Rampal "Flute & Piano" or Weather Report "Birdland" are sounding so good now, as never before...

So I'll reduce my budget and go only Cardas for now. I must build my portable setup yet.

Latter, I'll go to silver cables and tube rolling thing.

the HD600 cable seems to be a noticable improvement to almost everyone so I think that was probably the right choice.

After you get that and your interconnect, you should chase down some of the microZOTL tube rolling threads.

I was "talking" to Hirsch telling him about the impossibility of making tube rolling in Brasilia. There is not a tube shop or any guy that I know of. And he was very kind and will help me from there...That's the Maryland Bad Boy !!!

So you think interconnect is a GO before tube rolling. Interesting point.
