I'm hoping to wrap up body work on it in the next couple of weeks, and paint it, rewire it and have it up and running by the end of May.

Well, maybe mid-June!

One of my favorite cars. Beautiful color too.

x2

That's a very nice M5. As nice as the E60 is, I still have a soft spot for the E39. BTW, the rims look very shiny (like the rest of the car)

Crazy, was that the insight? How was she to drive? I've never driven a hybrid before so I've always been curious about the way they handle and such.

Yeah, it was an Insight. It was a great experience. The acceleration was decent, and the handling was nice. It was definitely a lot of fun for a lot of reasons. The gauges were digital and looked really cool/star trek-like. The MPG display allows you to see accurately how your MPG varied as you drove. This was a lot of fun when trying to eke out the most mpg. There is nothing like the sound of your engine shutting off at a stop light and you sitting there in complete silence. The electric motor added a nice little kick.

The Honda Insight is unique IMO because it's a very light car with stiff suspension and relatively sporty handling in 5-speed. This made it much more sporty/peppy than other hybrid cars. With modern hybrids, I would imagine that they'd be very similar to current cars. It's been a while (4 years) since I've driven hybrids.

Nothing is like 600 miles in a 15 gallon tank. I barely spent money on gas.

Alas, it was sold when I headed off to college and now it's not so practical, having only 2 seats and most of the storage space taken by batteries. Was a great little car and had a lot of memories attached to it. (Drove my GF of 5 years in it when we first met/dated

) I wonder where it is now.

Insane... I can't imagine getting that kind of mileage, lord knows if I didn't live next to my work and school, I'd be filling up my Z every week. I'm with you on the whole selling aspect, my mom used to have this old Silver Toyota Cressida, that was in excellent condition. It was damaged during shipment here to where we live now and my mom refused to pay the shipping company, so she signed over the pink slip. We had that car for over ten years, and crazy as it seems, every so often I'd think about it. I went back to visit California about 2 months ago, and saw a sky blue Cressida while I was out walking in the morning and just literally froze. I must have stared at that car for several minutes before I went on my way again.
