How safely bendable is hd555 headband?

Just got my hd555 and velour cups very comfortable but the band is a little tight.Can i bend it back as you can with Grado sr60 band or should i let my head make the slow adjustment?I dont want to break or crack the headband. thanks matt

I think bending is not the best approach. Instead you should put some books between the cups and let the cans rest for some hours. This will allow you to gradually stretch the headband until it fits you.

Unlike the metal grado headbands, plastic doesnt "bend" - it cracks... so be careful. I'd say its pretty hard to do any damage unless you had no feeling whatsoever - you'd tell when its going to break; but this wont leave the headband any wider.

With these types of headbands, the phone-over-books, gradual stretching is the only way to go...
