X-Fi Cannot Detct Optical In

Well I have an X-Fi Elite Pro and Sony D-EJ925. Connected the optical out of The D-EJ925 to the optical in of the X-Fi break-out box. No sound came out.

Went to the audio console and saw that :

S/PDIF-In : <UNKNOWN> bit, stereo, 44100Hz

Just tried using my dvd player with an audio CD inside. Still the same message. Is my settings wrong for the console?
