Hey guys,
I think I've read almost every thread of opinions on the super.fi and shure eXc series. I think those opinions are largely based on the type of music the poster listens to which isn't usually mentioned. I would like to be specific in my questions so here goes:

-Iaudio x5L
-listening to trance mostly, so I love my bass, but not to the extent that it makes the melody less clear or is over powering the other sounds in the song.
-mostly going to be during my commute. I take both train AND bus in nyc, several times/day, so noise cancellation is essential.
-comfort. i have relatively small ears (or so I'm told) and the stock buds that came with the x5L hurt my ears.
-and of course, value. is it necessary to get the next higher level in a series of iem if basically the same sound can be had for cheaper.

I'm currently looking at:
-super.fi 3 vs. super.fi 5 eb. Do you think the eb's bass would be too much with trance/dance music, or was it made for this?

-shure e3 vs. shure e4. Is the price difference worth it?

Then, the finals - The best from the super.fi's vs. the best of the shures in term of value (best bang for the buck). This search for new iems has been hectic. There is not much info at iaudiophile.net I really appreciate any help. Thanks alot.
