should i just run a spdif cable out of an av710 card for the microdac? would usb be better? worse? suggestions?

you said it. it is a hot one. cost is also very much an issue so if i can save a lot with usb and recieve no apparent loss in SQ i'd jump on it. another issue is that the microdac simply transfers the usb signal to a spdif signal internally. one more step in the process with usb. i haven't a clue if this would add jitter. and then i'd ask: what are some good affordable usb and spdif cables? i shouldn't need longer than 3ft or so.

could anyone else weigh in on this? usb cables are ridiculously cheap

but it's 6ft long. signal degredation? are there "high quality" usb cables? worth my money to go with an av710 and a spdif cable??? help???

Since it's digital, I would not worry about signal degredation at all.

MicroDAC has mini-5 input, so the correct cable should be: http://www.pcmicrostore.com/PartDeta...502867;c:36142
Since it's digital, I would not worry about signal degredation at all.
