found a pair of Energy Pro 4.5 tower speakers in my town for sale for 250.00

was considering something smaller like PSB alpha's (or Paradigm atoms or B&W dm 302) but ??? maybe this is a good deal and better option... for use w/ a sansui 771 reciever and dual 1225 turntable for my modest setup.?

appreciate any thoughts.

Soundboy, I bought the Energy e:XL25 on your reccomendation and those of audioreview.com

They are a crazy deal - best bang for the buck I've ever come across - at that sale price with free shipping dollar for dollar IMHO they best the wharfedale, psb, paradigm, nht, mission, etc. They do drop off at about 70hz, which is perfect for my situation (could always add a small sub later). They throw up a much better sound stage that the Wharfedale 8.1s I was using and one that is at least equivalent, but in some ways much better, than the paradigm mini monitors. Nice imaging, smooth yet detailed - detail of the NHT with the musicality of the pradigms yet not as harsh.

Thanks for the notice

and chris.d.m - I would very much reccomend that you go with these over the used ones at which you were looking - good luck
