i use eac prebeta 5. should i use the newer ones? i'm confused about which ones are "betas" and which are not. EAC could use some help in non-pc-geek computer friendliness; one place is certainly the download page

Best practice is to use the last version available. There is not much difference in beta/nonbeta, since all are essentially still betas. As the app is permanently under development, there don't seem to ever appear any "final" or "stable" or "release" at all.
