So I'm new to this whole "audiophile" setup; having great headphones, the right cable, amp, etc. I've been reading forums/webpages for the past week or so and the information is overwhelming.

I figure I should start at the ground up.

Currently, I have a PC that I built with an maudio audiophile 2496

Now, my current setup is just a pair of BeyerDynamic DT880, I plan to build an amp in the near future and replace the stock cable with one from Cardas.

Basically, do any of you have experience with this card, and if so, should I scrap it and get a different one, or can I mod this card? Also, I noticed it has digital out, so I'm not even sure which connection I should be using from the card.

I will be using this setup for listening to FLAC audio / watching dvds / and playing games.

Anyway, I'm still a newb to this whole thing and trying to ask as many question as I can before tearing something apart with a soldering iron or spending a lot of money of "name brand" stuff.
