Probably not for a while.

Maximum PC has a preview this month. I didn't bother to read much of it because I'm not going to be buying one.

I just want a card that doesn't resample and sounds as good as or better than the EMU series. For $400 they should be able to deliver that, but instead they're just adding external boxes and bay drives. The X-Ram feature actually sounds really cool, and I may end up buying one anyways. But I think it would be sad if I had to run two $200 sound cards because Creative couldn't fix a problem people have been complaining about for years.

Sorry, but no, it hasn't.

What I really want to know is whether they will support Dolby Digital Live! It appears that they won't, so I may have to buy one card for DD Live and one for EAX 5.0 etc.

Both, plus a 6800GT, will cost a lot of dough...

Yes, I saw that too! What a GREAT idea! Transform your digital feed into analogue, output it, and then re-encode it into digital! Which then re-outputs it to analogue!!! Best idea EVER!!!!!

(I'm being slightly sarcastic here - and yes, I know you were too
