I prefer Dopesmoker, but both are excellent.

I seem to see Suzuki's orchestrations pop up regularly on here, I'm curious to listen to it. I wonder if any of the local stores have his music available?

All 54 volumes of Suzuki's Bach cantata cycle are available as FLAC downloads which I've been buying from http://www.prestoclassical.co.uk/

I have a couple of releases from Bach Collegium Japan and Masaaki Suzuki. I have no idea how it compares to other recordings of the same work because it's the only version I've heard, but I enjoy their recording of Bach's Mass in B minor very much.

Thank you, Andolink. I will add a few of Suzuki's Bach cantatas to my wish list. :-)

The recordings I've heard of Bach's music is very limited. I managed to hear  Suzuki's Cantatas Volume 31 last night via Rdio. It was a gorgeous listen and perhaps the best version of Jauchzet Gott in allen Landent, BWV 51 I've ever heard. On the note of Bach's Mass in B minor, I've only heard a small handful of recordings of this piece. My main recollections are from hearing the music being performed live in concert, which is beyond words for me. :-)

Absolutely essential listening, IMO. Also a great way to cheat on those "Albums where you like every song" threads since it's really all one song.

Latest five purchases. First two are LPs, the third a CD, and the last two AIFF downloads from Beatport (which I converted to Apple Lossless for my own convenience).
