I'm looking to upgrade my portable setup and have come up with two conclusions:
1) IAudio X5L = ~350 bucks (but of course I would sell the iPod i have so end price woudl be ~150)
2) Portaphile v2 Amp= ~200 bucks
Since people are saying that the IAudio X5L's sound quality is superb even without an amp, yeah.
My current setup is a 4th Gen Ipod 20gb with KSC75's.
I listen to just about everything (EVERYTHING!), but bass is most likely a must since I am part of the Beyerdynamic Team.
So the question is: Is the IAudio X5L's sq better (sidenote: How is the gap on these puppies?) than that of an IPod with amp?
After this dilemma, I think I'll upgrade my e2cs to e4cs
All in all, I can pretty much say that my summer job paychecks might as well be made out to my ears. Thanks for the condolences, my wallet appreciates them.
