Kansas City Meetup......
Aug 15, 2005 at 12:23 AM Post #31 of 65
Hey Guys,

If the meet is next Saturday, the 20th, I'll be there with bells on, and bringing a new head dude who couldn't make the 2 meets at my house. If it is the 20th, there will be a double header of fun because the Johnson County Fair Demolition Derby in Gardner has been rescheduled for that evening. A good day in store - music and audio, followed by geniuses smashing cars - doesn't get any better!

I will bring Senn HD-650, Senn HD-280, Beyer DT-880, same stuff as always. I will also bring an old Fisher tube amp or two, and a SS receiver. Also, the A/B Dikhead amp comparison switch too. I hope to hear how decent sounding vintage audio stacks up with dedicated headamps.

Anyone wants a ride from Lawrence, let me know, but you'll have to appreciate crunching metal on the way home.

I put a buzz out on AudioKarma about the meet. Beer will be in the car, as mentioned above. Big Al will not attend, will be home charming everyone in sight, as usual. Smithers missed his chance last fall, he can kick his own ass now.

I'm still up for this. I think it would be a good idea to e-mail everybody that has posted in this thread as a reminder. Since I don't frequent here a lot, I had kind of spaced it, so maybe some other members may have also

Just a thought.

EDIT: Actually, I might not be able to make it for very long. What time were we planning on starting?

Well dudes, I talked it over with the head honcho at Plaza and the 27th will be a much better option for them. I'm really sorry for the inconvenience.

That being said...I'd like to get these questions answered:

Who WILL be there on the 27th?
How many people should I expect?
What equipment (phones, amps, power, etc...) are you fine fellows bringing?
Is there anything equipment wise you dudes need?
I'll have a giant cooler full of soda and water, you fella's want to order some pizzas or get some food afterward?
Does everyone know where Plaza Middle School is and how to get there? We will be using the east doors, we'll have our own entrance and I just might whip up some sort of signs for us. It's really easy to find, just let me know if you need some more directions.

I hope this doesn't cause too many problems. The guys at the school took a while looking over their schedules trying to find the better date and I apologize for that. If this can't work out the way it is now, and you all are so motivated to do so we can try and push this back another week or two to find a date that will accomodate more people. I'm a pretty flexible guy, just let me know if there is anything else I can do to help you.

Looking forward to meeting you guys!

I'm sure it'll be a blast when we finally get around to it!

Regards,

Andrew

I will be there Stax in hand, but I'm still a bit vague on when to show up. Is that Plaza Middle School the one off of I-29??

I'm open for anytime, and yes, this is the school off I-29.

Can't wait to see your needle collection man. It's quite impressive.

Yea, right off I-29...take the 72nd street exit. We'll be using the east doors, so coming north on 29 take a left after the off ramp onto 72nd and you'll go under the highway and see a Pizza Hut on the corner. Plaza is right after that Pizza Hut, take the first entrance and go straight. I'll park my truck out there so everyone knows where to go, it'll be a little red Ranger.

As for a time, I'm up for anything. I'm thinking like 1:00ish or something like that? Will that work?

And like I said, I feel kind of bad that not everyone will be able to make it. Is there anything else we can do to accomodate all the others? It's not a problem at all for me to push this back another weekend or two if everyone agrees and more can show, I'd only have to make one phone call. It makes no difference to me.

Also, what do you guys want to do about food? We can work something out I'm sure.

I could make Sept 17 for sure, maybe the 24th, Sept 3rd or 10th won't work for me.

I'm up for anyitme really.....but we should leave the decision to Andrew as he was nice enough to get us a really cool place to have the meet.

So if it's not stepping on anyone's toes.....maybe we should move it so that everyone can attend.....but if not, we can have another meetup in a couple months for those that couldn't make it.

Either way, I think we've got all the bases covered.

: )
