Hey guys i was wondering what the best options for a $100 dollars i have to get better sound out of my hd595's(the 50ohm version). Right now i have a audigy 2zs and all of my music is 192 but i hope to go lossless/320kb/s soon. So what do you guys think would be better. Also i am going to only use this with my computer so is there any way to change the amp from using a 9v to being conected to a power outlet.

1. chaintech av/710 + govibe/cmoy
2. a better amp maybe this http://z-audio.com/epsilon.html
3. emu 0404
4. any other ideas would be great

M-Audio 5.1 will replace soundcard and has onboard amp equiv to a cmoy class type of amp.

Choice 1 IMO.

The AV-710 is a huge improvement over the Audigy 2. Properly amped, of course.

Well let me say the 0404 is a great card, but unamped it sounds like deep fried ass. The sound is very bloated and muddy. Even a $60 pocket amp goes a long way to clean this up. Not sure if you already own an amp or not based on your post.

I say get a better source first before worrying about anything else.

Ditto. Costs a couple bucks more than an AV-710/CMOY combo, but the card itself is better and it's a much easier solution.

Actually...the Revolution might be cheaper.

Chaintech ($25) + CMoy or Mint ($50) = $75

The Revolution can be had for 70 or less. At Micro Center, I remember one being in the low 60's.
