What a great review there. Am new to this world of Head-fi but have read good feedback/reviews on the Raptor.

Can anyone advise if the tubes are rollable and if so, which are best as direct replacements to give more robust bass /slam?

Cheers

unfortunately the 5687 tube ray uses is not a numerous one.I have only come across two examples. The nos phillips jan tube and a nos sylvania jan tube.Of the two i preferred the stock phillips jan tube ray supplied the amp with it was tighter sounding than the sylvania tube.I also tried a different 12au7 and found the stock jj tube to be more optimal sounding at least towards my tastes which tend to be for a more neutral sound balance.
If you want more slam I recommend you upgrade the raptors stock fuse with a hifi tuning supreme fuse.I also recommend you use the harmonic tech ac-11 power cord for the raptor.I have found that this cord actually made the raptor sound more powerful than with any of the other cords I have either used or tried on the raptor. Some of those cables were much more expensive than the harmonic tech.I really like the combination of attributes that the harmonic cord brings to the party. It has very good soundstage, bass and clarity.

Power cords definitely make a difference on the Raptor.  I use a Furutech Audio Reference III or a Harmonc Technology Magic Reference II SE on the B52.  The sound becomes much bigger, more robust and powerful.  Not only do you get fantastic bass slam, you get increased soundstaging and better resolution in the bottom, mids and top end.

Yes, that fuse makes a difference as well.  I use a HiFi Tuning Supreme as well for the B52.
