How I destroyed 3 pairs of Grados in one weekend

slwiser: I know exactly what you mean. Just like after starving on a desert island for three weeks, a piece of beef jerky seems like a filet mignon steak.

That is why I waited for a couple of days to be sure. I did more listening last night and they still sound terrific.

...and that's why I never DIY!!!!

But when you let the pros do it (as I did when I had the drivers replaced) they glue cord to the back of the driver and spill big glob of glue on it too

DIY is the more fun way to go. I mean if I hadn't been trying to build my amp and then attempted to take my soldering gun apart, I never would have the excitement of that large spark and explosion when I plugged the soldering gun back in with 2 wires touching each other, oops. I'm just happy it was on a different circuit than my stereo, that would have made me unhappy if my music had been interupted. Oh yeah, I would have been unhappy if I had died too, but what are you gonna do. DIY is the way to go.
