Larry brought the LaRocco HeadCode DM over to my place. I probably spent about an hour listening to it... and boy was I impressed, even if I wasn't surprised. (LaRocco has consistently made the best sounding dynamic headphone amps I've ever heard, so this was pretty much par for the course)

The HeadCode is an extremely well controlled amp. So well controlled that I suggested they add an output impedance switch to "sloppy it up a bit" for those times when you want maximum fun factor. The bass is pretty unbelievable in its depth and detail (definitely one of those "I never heard that bass line before!" amps) It's also the first and only dynamic amplifier I've ever heard that

brought some dynamic headphones into the same league as the HE90/HE60/Omega2. Ok, maybe basic physics keeps dynamic headphones from playing in the same ball-park, but as is it's quite an achievement.

Thanks a lot for the impressions!

Which headphones did you use with the Headcode or which one sounded best if you used several ones?

As for having more fun with the Headcode, I think you can have a bass contour added or just buy a 75ohm / 120 ohm adapter from somewhere.

As a very gross simplification, it is a similar concept to the one used in the PPA, one channel for left, one for right, and one for the ground...

[size=medium]Obviously!, somebody needs to compare & contrast the HeadCode against the Dynahi and other top amps.
